Instructions

GAUGE: End of Round 3 = 2-1/4 inches across.

DIRECTIONS: With red, ch 8, join with sl st to form ring.

  1. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 19 dcs in ring, join with sl st in the top of beginning ch-3: 20 dcs.
  2. Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc plus 1 ch), [dc in next dc, ch 1] 19 times, join with sl st in third ch of beginning ch-4: 20 dcs.
  3. Round 3: Ch 3, work 2 dcs in same st, work 3 dcs in each dc around, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3: 60 dcs.
  4. Round 4: Sc in same st, * ch 10, sk 1 dc, sc in each of next two dcs; repeat from * around, ending with ch 10, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc: 20 ch-10 sps. Fasten off.
  5. Round 5: With sl knot on hk, red thread and right side facing, ch 3 for first dc in any ch-10 sp, work 2 dcs in same sp, * ch 3, work 3 dcs in next ch-10 sp; repeat from * around, ch 3, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3.
  6. Round 6: Sc in same st, * ch 10, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc, work 3 scs in next ch-3 sp, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with a sl st in beginning sc: 20 ch-10 sps.
  7. Round 7: Sl st to fifth ch of next ch-10 sp, ch 3 for first dc, work 2 dcs in same ch-10 sp, * ch 5, work 3 dcs in next ch-10 sp; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with ch 5, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3.
  8. Round 8: Sc in same st, * ch 10, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc, work 5 scs in next ch-5 sp, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with sl st in beginning sc.
  9. Round 9: Sl st to fifth ch of next ch-10 sp, ch 3 for first dc, work 2 dcs in same ch-10 sp, * ch 6, work 3 dcs in next ch-10 sp; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with ch 6, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3.
  10. Round 10: Sc in same st, ch 10, work (1 sc, ch 10, sc) in next dc, ch 10, sc in next dc, * work 6 scs in next ch-6 sp, sc in next dc, ch 5, sl st in last ch-10 sp made, ch 5, work (1 sc, ch 10, sc) in next dc, ch 10, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with 6 scs in next ch-6 sp, sc in next dc, ch 5, sl st in last ch-10 sp made, ch 5, work (1 sc, ch 10, sc) in next dc, ch 5, sl st in first ch-10 sp of round, ch 5, join with sc in last dc.   11. Round 11: With sl knot on hk, red thread and right side facing, ch 3 for first dc in center of any ch-10 sp, work 2 dcs in same sp, * ch 8, sc in next sl st joining ch-10 sps, ch 8, work 3 dcs in next ch-10 sp; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with ch 8, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3.
  12. Round 12: Sc in same st, * ch 10, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc, work 5 scs in next ch-8 sp, ch 3, work 5 scs in next ch-8 sp, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with sl st in beginning sc.
  13. Round 13: Sl st to fifth ch of ch-10 sp, ch 3 for first dc, work 2 dcs in same ch-10 sp, * ch 6, work 3 dcs in next ch-3 sp, ch 6, work 3 dcs in next ch-10 sp; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with ch 6, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3. Fasten off.
  14. Round 14: With sl knot on hk, green thread and right side facing, ch 3 for first dc in first dc of any 3-dc group in a ch-10 sp, work 3 dcs in same st, ch 3, sk 1 dc, work 4 dcs in next dc, * ch 5, sc in center dc of next 3-dc group, ch 5, work 4 dcs in next dc, ch 3, sk 1 dc, work 4 dcs in next dc; repeat from * around, ending last repeat with ch 5, sc in center dc of next 3-dc group, ch 5, join with sl st in top of beginning ch-3.
  15. Round 15: * Ch 4, work (1 sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 4, sk 3 dcs, sc in next dc, ch 3, dc in each of next ch-5 sps, ch 3, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, join with sl st in beginning ch. Fasten off.
  16. Use a tapestry needle to weave in loose ends.
