Instructions

  1. To make a bookmark, begin at one end with green, ch 6, join with sl st in first ch to form ring.
  2. Row 1 (RS): Working in ring, * (ch 3, tr, ch 1, hdc, ch 1, tr, ch 3, sl st) three times for a clover *, ch 3; ** ch 16, sl st in sixth ch from hk to form next ring, turn, repeat between *’s, sl st in next 3 ch, repeat from ** 10 more times, omitting sl st in next 3 ch on last clover: 12 clovers. Fasten off.
  3. Round 1: With WS toward you, join white  with sc in center of first (right-hand) leaf of last clover; ** * (ch 4, dc in sl st between this leaf and next, ch 4, sc in center of next leaf) twice *, ch 2, dc in third ch before next clover, dc in third ch after same clover, ch 2, sc in center of first leaf of next clover **, repeat between **’s four more times, repeat between *’s once, ch 4, dc in 6th ch from base of end clover, ch 4, sc in center of next leaf, working on opposite side of clovers, repeat between **’s across, repeat between *’s once, ch 4, dc in 6th ch from base of end clover, ch 4, join with sl st in top of beg sc.
  4. Round 2: Sl st in next 2 chs, ch 1, sc over same ch sp, * ch 5, sc over next ch sp, ch 6, sc over next ch sp, ch 5, sc over next ch sp, tr between next 2 dc sts, sc over next ch sp *, repeat between *’s four more times, ch 5, sc over next ch sp, ch 6, sc over next ch sp, (ch 5, sc over next ch sp) four times, repeat between *’s five times, ch 5, sc over next ch sp, ch 6, (sc over next ch sp, ch 5) four times, sl st in top of beg sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Gauge: Each clover motif is 3/4 inch across.

Finished size: Bookmark is about 7-1/2 inches long.
