Instructions

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Working with two strands of red yarn as one, ch 74. (Loop on hook does not count as a ch.)
  2. Row 1: Sk first two chs; * sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sk 1 ch; repeat from * across row, ending with hdc in last ch, turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 2; * sk hdc, work 1 sc and 1 hdc in next sc; repeat from * across row, ending with hdc in last ch, turn.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until afghan is about 45 in. long. Fasten off at end of last row.
  5. EDGING: Round 1: Working with two strands of white yarn as one, attach yarn with a sl st in corner; * work 3 scs in same sp; work scs evenly spaced along side of afghan to next corner; work 3 scs in the corner; work scs evenly spaced across end of afghan to next corner; repeat from * around, join with a sl st in beginning st.
  6. Round 2: Repeat Round 1, working 1 sc in each sc and working 3 scs in center sc of each corner. Fasten off.
  7. Round 3: Working with two strands of green yarn as one, attach yarn with a sl st in any corner, repeat Round 2. Fasten off.
  8. FINISHING: Use tapestry needle to weave in all loose ends.

FINISHED SIZE: Afghan is about 35 inches wide x 48 inches long.
