Finishing:

  1. Cut eight 10-in. lengths of the red ribbon. Form each into a small bow as shown in Fig. 1 and stitch across center with matching thread to hold.Crocheted Tabletop Tree Skirt Fig. 1-Making Bows
  2.  Cut a 12-in. length of  ribbon. Fold 1/2-in. twice to the wrong side and hand-tack a bow to the right side on one end. Hand-sew one half of the snap to the opposite end of the ribbon.
  3.  Place crocheted tabletop tree skirt right side up on a flat surface. Overlap straight edges of the crocheted tree skirt and align eyelets along straight edges. Starting at outer edge of the crocheted tree skirt and working toward the center, thread the snap end of the 12-in. length of a ribbon in and out of the overlapped eyelets. Fold excess to inside of tree skirt. Position the bow at the outer edge. Wrap snap-end of the ribbon to the inside of crocheted ree skirt. Sew other half of snap to the ribbon where needed to hold ribbon in place.
  4. Cut seven 10-in. lengths of  ribbon. Starting at the outside edge, thread  through an inside row of eyelets. Wrap the end of the ribbon around the outside edge of the tree skirt. With matching thread, hand-tack the ribbon ends to the wrong side of the tree skirt at each end and sew a bow to the outer edge of each as shown in the photo.

Assembly:

  1. To put crocheted tabletop tree skirt around tree, remove ribbon from the overlapped eyelets. Wrap crocheted tree skirt right side out around tree base and overlap straight edges as before. Thread ribbon with bow through eyelets as before; snap to hold.
  2. Cut a 36-in. length of  ribbon; thread through eyelets at the center. Tie ends in a bow.
