Instructions

GAUGE: Working dcs in sk sts, 12 sts and 9 rows = 4 inches.

Special Stitches: When working in sk chs or sk sts, work dc over ch of previous row and into the two top loops of the sk st two rows down. Work sts in sk chs and sk sts loosely, keeping height of all sts in row uniform.

DIRECTIONS: With white, ch 111. Loop on hk does not count as a ch.

  1. Row 1: Skip the first 3 chs and dc in the fourth ch from hk, dc in each of next 2 chs, [ch 3, sk next 3 chs, dc in each of next 3 chs] four times; * [ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next ch] six times; ch 1, sk next ch, dc in each of next 3 chs; [ch 3, sk next 3 chs, dc in each of the next 3 chs] four times; repeat from * one more time; hdc in last ch.
  2. Row 2: Ch 5, turn, sk first 3 dcs, * [dc in each of the next 3 sk chs of beginning ch, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs] four times, ch 1, sk next ch, [hdc in next dc, ch 1, sk next ch] six times; ch 3, sk next 3 dcs; repeat from * one more time; [dc in each of the next sk chs, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs] four times; hdc in second ch of beginning ch.
  3. Row 3: Ch 2, turn, * [dc in each of next 3 sk dcs, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs] four times, dc in each of next 3 sk dcs, ch 1, sk 1 ch, [hdc in next hdc, ch 1, sk next ch] six times; repeat from * one more time; [dc in each of next 3 sk dcs, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs] four times; dc in each of next 3 sk dcs; hdc in second ch of turning ch.
  4. Row 4: Ch 5, turn, sk first 3 dcs, * [dc in each of the next 3 sk dcs, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs] four times, ch 1, sk next ch; [hdc in next hdc, ch 1, sk next ch] six times, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs; repeat from * one more time; [dc in each of the next 3 sk dcs, ch 3, sk next 3 dcs] four times; hdc in second ch of turning ch.
  5. Rows 5-10: Repeat Rows 3 and 4. Fasten off white at end of Row 10.
  6. Row 11: Attach peach, repeat Row 3. Fasten off.
  7. Row 12: Attach yellow, repeat Row 4. Fasten off.
  8. Row 13: Attach lavender, repeat Row 3. Fasten off.
  9. Row 14: Attach light turquoise, repeat Row 4. Fasten off.
  10. Row 15: Attach pink, repeat Row 3. Fasten off.
  11. Row 16: Attach light blue, repeat Row 4. Fasten off.
  12. Row 17: Attach light green, repeat Row 3. Fasten off.
  13. Row 18: Attach white, repeat Row 4.
  14. Odd Rows 19-31: Repeat Row 3.
  15. Even Rows 20-32: Repeat Row 4. Fasten off white at end of Row 32.

  29. Border: Ch 1, turn, sc around outside edge, working 1 sc in each st across ending and beginning rows, 2 scs in the ends of each row and 3 scs in each corner. Join with a sl st in beginning ch. Fasten off.

FINISHED SIZE: Afghan measures about 36 inches wide x 44 inches long.
