Count on Casseroles

Get creative with casserole cuisine—your recipe could earn you $500.

Casserole ContestNothing cozies up a kitchen like the warmth and aroma of a tasty casserole baking in the oven. These one-dish wonders are the focus of our “Count on Casseroles” recipe contest.

We plan to cover our Test Kitchen tables with casseroles that serve as entrees or side dishes. The bubbling bakes can feature meat, fish/seafood, poultry or meatless ingredients.

Perhaps your pepper steak casserole is a crowd pleaser, or your taco hot dish earns an olé. An Italian pork sausage bake is sure to interest judges, as will classic lamb shepherd’s pie.

Tempt us with a turkey potpie or captivating chicken cassoulet. Show off a savory seafood jambalaya or your take on Grandma’s tuna noodle casserole.

Meatless mainstays, like veggie lasagna or a cheesy breakfast strata, are welcome. And don’t overlook casserole sides—from au gratin potatoes to baked squash topped with corn bread crumbs.

Dish it out. Send recipes postmarked by our contest deadline, June 1, 2009. We’ll feature the winners in our February/ March 2010 issue.

The Grand Prize is $500 cash. The second-prize winner will receive $300, and third prize is $200.
