Home-Baked for the Holidays
Do you “holidazzle” family and friends with your baking? Send us your festive best—and you could
win $500.
Visions of sugarplums—not to mention breads, cakes, pies and cookies—are dancing in our heads. That makes it the perfect time to announce our new contest, “Home-Baked for the Holidays.”
We’re looking for baked-with-love goodies you rely on to flavor your winter celebrations. Tempt us with…
Quick Breads and Yeast Breads
Let us sample your Christmas fruitcake, gingerbread scones and cranberry-pecan muffins. Or impress us with stollen, butterhorns or a nut-filled almond wreath.
Cakes, Tortes and Cheesecakes
Perhaps you serve up gifts for the taste buds like a frosted Yule log, peppermint torte or poinsettia-decorated cupcakes. A wonderful pumpkin cheesecake is eligible, too.
Pies
Offer us top-crust holiday pies—mincemeat, praline and chocolate-mint included. And show how you warm your home with the aroma of a spiced apple tart or sweet
potato pie.
Cookies
You can never have too many! Check your recipe box for hazelnut thumbprints, mocha snowballs, spritz cookies and more.
So, holiday bakers…start your ovens!
Recipes must be postmarked by our contest deadline, April 1, 2008. We’ll present the winners in our December/January 2009 issue.
Great Prizes!
The Grand Prize is $500 cash. The second-prize winner will receive $300, and third prize is $200. Each of the five runners-up will receive a $30 free merchandise certificate from Country Store.
