Take stock of your tastiest soups and stews. Fill us to the brim with your best—and you could win $500.

We’re turning to the stockpot for our newest national recipe contest, which stars “Super Soups & Stews.” Send us your one-bowl wonders that load a ladle with flavor.

Any type of soup or stew (except chili) will do. It can be served hot or cold and start with homemade stock and broth, or use convenience products as a time-saver.

Stir the pot for…

Broth-Based and Cream Soups
Perhaps you favor staples like chicken noodle, beef barley or turkey soup with dumplings. Or maybe you’re in the thick of it with potato cheese soup or crab bisque.

Vegetable and Bean and Lentil Soups
Pick out garden-fresh soups—French onion, savory mushroom soup and Italian minestrone. Soups like split pea, white bean fennel and Texas black bean are hot commodities, too.

Satisfying Stews
We can hardly wait to sample your stew standouts. Dish up Irish lamb, Creole fish or mouth-watering mulligan stews.

Hearty Soups and Cold Soups
Comfort us with clam chowder, hamburger soup and seafood gumbo. We’d also find gazpacho, chilled red plum and cold tomato and zucchini soup refreshing.

Our judges are sure to be lovin’ those spoonfuls. Recipes must be postmarked by our contest deadline, February 1, 2008. We’ll lift the lid on the winners in our October/November 2008 issue.

Great Prizes!
The Grand Prize is $500 cash. The second-prize winner will receive $300, and third prize is $200.
Each of the five runners-up will receive a $30 free merchandise certificate from Country Store.
