Cast out your tastiest fish and seafood recipes, and you could net a big prize!
This contest has a delicious catch to it. We’re angling for as many fabulous fish and standout seafood dishes as we can get in this national recipe call-out, “Hooked on Flavor.”
Share your family’s favorite recipes that call for fresh, frozen or canned fish and seafood that’s readily available at your supermarket or in local lakes and streams. There’s a boatload of options—from bass, salmon and catfish to trout, walleye and perch. Snapper, orange roughy, tuna, sole, whitefish, haddock and cod qualify, too.
Seafood sensations, such as shrimp, scallops, crab, clams and oysters, are also contenders.
Consider Entering…
Appetizers. Maybe you lure diners with crab cakes, bacon-wrapped scallops and shrimp and pineapple satays…or perhaps you put smoked salmon in puffs, pizza or dip.
Soups. Does your clam chowder, oyster stew or seafood gumbo contain an ocean of flavor? An easy fish bisque or shrimp gazpacho or jambalaya are also of interest.
Entrees. Tell us how you reel in compliments with Cajun catfish and Asian-style tuna steaks. Or you may have a new angle on seafood or fish stir-fries, tacos, quiches and casseroles, or salmon or tuna patties with a tantalizing twist.
Salads. Don’t forget the crab salad, spicy seafood and pasta toss, or salmon-stuffed
avocado that makes a splash.
Whether it’s pan-fried, poached, grilled, steamed, boiled, broiled or blackened, pass along your catch of the day. The deadline for entering this contest is October 1, 2007. Winners will be featured in the June/July 2008 issue.

The Grand Prize is $500.00 cash. The second-prize winner will receive $300.00, and third prize is $200.00.
