Peaches and plums and nectarines…oh, my! Make the most of summer’s sweetest flavors—you could win $500.
The pick of the pits is what we’re seeking in our newest national contest spotlighting a “Treetop Trio.” Send recipes that squeeze every drop of goodness from peaches, plums and nectarines.
You can use fresh, frozen, canned or dried fruit. And we’re open to either sweet or savory recipes. Not eligible are canned items like jams, jellies or preserves.
Make a pit stop at your recipe box, and look for…
Breads, Crisps, Cobblers and Kuchens. Maybe everyone’s keen on your peach scones, muffins or coffee cake. Or perhaps you pull out a plum kuchen, nectarine berry crisp or praline peach cobbler.
Pies, Tarts and Other Desserts. Does your family have a passion for your peach pie or Italian plum tart? Don’t forget nectarine shortcake, peach bread pudding or ice cream made with tree-fresh plums.
Entrees.Tell us about the tilapia with plum sauce guests go plumb crazy for, or your main dish salad packed with peaches, turkey and walnuts. Are your fruited pork chops “nectarine nirvana”…or do taste buds dance from your grilled chicken with peach salsa?
Side Salads, Soups and Condiments.Peachy rice salad, chilled nectarine soup and plum berry chutney also crop up on our wanted list.
We’re waiting for you to send our kitchen into a fruit frenzy. Recipes must be postmarked by our contest deadline, December 1, 2007. That way, we’ll have the pick of the crop to share with readers in our August/ September 2008 issue, when summer fruits are abundant.

The Grand Prize is $500 cash. The second-prize winner will receive $300, and third prize is $200.
